The name “Connection Groups” clearly communicates what it is and why we do it. It’s a group gathered around a particular topic or theme. It is specific in purpose, designed to teach something. But it’s also about connection. It’s about having the opportunity to connect to other people here at Mission Point. Connection Groups.
The groups are designed to be short term community, providing meaningful time together without the long term schedule commitment. Groups range from four weeks to ten weeks long. A few groups will be offered at a time during the fall, winter and summer.
Summer 2017 Connection Groups
POST-GRAD GROUP – This group meets Monday evenings at 7pm. This group is for anyone who is currently in the workforce or who has completed undergraduate college. The study gathers weekly at 1403 Ranch Road, Warsaw, Indiana. Led by Justin Braun and Kerri Pingel.
MEN’S MORNING MEETING – Wednesday mornings from 6:30-7:30am in Martin’s 2nd floor. Each week there will be a different topic for discussion, enabling men to come whenever schedules allow. Led by John Barrette and Josh Salsgiver.
SHE – Wednesday evenings during the month of June. Beyond the fairy tales, distorted cultural messages, sometimes “all too quiet” Christian community and broken world realities, what does a free woman look like? sound like? move like? The answer is less prescriptive and more of a conversation in need of all women’s voices (single, married, young, mature, hiding or alive). Come be part of the dialogue. The group will be largely based off of Jonalyn Grace Fincher’s book Ruby Slippers in the event any group participants would like to purchase the book. Led by Dr. Deb Musser.
SERMON DISCUSSION GROUP – Meeting 6 times between mid-June and late-July (evening to be determined shortly). This group will meet to discuss sermon applications related to one of our summer message series. This is a great way to get to know a few other people at Mission Point, get a taste of community, and practice putting what we learn on Sunday mornings into action. Led by Rick and Ellen Swaim.
