50% of foster parents quit after the first year or their first placement. Many families are on the brink of having their children removed. There are parents who need encouragement.  Care Crews, a ministry of Hands of Hope has proven to retain up to 90% of those foster parents and help sustain families. Care Crews are extended families that wrap around a family in need of support, with each person playing a specific role.

Family Helper:  The main responsibility is to provide one meal a month; however, they are encouraged to match their gifts with the needs of the family (organizing, shopping, laundry, cleaning, etc)

Child Mentor:  This role directly invests in the lives of children. They are asked to serve 1-2 scheduled times per month. Engagement will depend on the needs and age of the children. It could include: childcare, tutoring, mentoring, transportation

Team Leader:  This is the coordinator of the Care Crew, acting as the liaison between the crew and the support family. They commit to a weekly phone call to the family and an update email to the crew.
